Description

This event is an open rehearsal for Theatre Passe Muraille’s presentation of BUTCH/FEMME written by CDTPS student Emily Paterson. Many members of BUTCH/FEMME's artistic production team are CDTPS students. This rehearsal presents an opportunity for other CDTPS Students to get insight into beginning to work in professional theatre from a student perspective. It will be a space to ask questions among peers about getting a start in theatre, and the behind the scenes process of working in professional theatre. For questions about the open rehearsal event, please contact Emily Paterson

Synopsis:

In the stillness of 1950s rural Ontario, Jenny’s quiet evening is shattered by an unexpected visitor — Alice, the woman she thought she’d left in the past. In one tense night the two reminisce, seeking answers from one another about their relationship, their past, and their future. Winner of Outstanding Production at the The Hart House Drama Festival (University of Toronto), BUTCH/FEMME tells a story of love, identity, and the invisible threads that bind us — even when we try to let go.

BUTCH/FEMME runs from September 20 to 27, 2025 at Theatre Passe Muraille's Mainspace.
