Join us for the 34th annual Festival of Original Theatre (FOOT) at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies. This year’s theme, “Encountering the Threshold,” invites scholars, artists, and audiences to explore moments of passage, suspension, and transformation in theatre and performance.
Thresholds mark spaces of tension and possibility between memory and futurity, presence and absence, rupture and renewal. Through papers, panels, workshops, performances, and roundtables, FOOT34 will examine how these “in-between” spaces shape creative practice, scholarship, and dialogue across disciplines.
Come engage with innovative research and performance that asks: How do thresholds open worlds, generate meaning, and reshape our relation to the present?
