CDTPS Assistant Professor Izuu Nwankwọ, along with Professor Chike Okoye from the Department of English Language and Literature at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria, has issued a call for chapters for the publication Body, Space, and Audience in Contemporary African Performance Poetry, for which they are co-editors.

Scope of the Book
In this book collection, we aim to gather materials that discuss contemporary performance poetry practice across Africa, with specific attention to the specificities of embodied enactments in relation to poets’ bodies, spaces of the enactment, and audience involvement and reception. The methodology of anticipated contributions will hinge on, but not limited to performative, ethnographic and qualitative purviews.
Areas of Interest
The edited book is designed to have a holistic look at performance poetry in all its functional and relevant iterations through eclectic and multidisciplinary perspectives. Well-researched essays on the scope and areas of interest are sought and contributions on the listed topics and related areas are welcome too.
