In this talk, Dr. Annette Bühler-Dietrich explores Kuti’s life, politics, and the negotiation of Africanness in Serge Aimé Coulibaly’s homage to Kuti, Kalakta Republik (2017) as well as the afrotopian vision articulated by both artists.
