December 18, 2023 by Antje Budde

The Digital Dramaturgy Lab_squared (DDL2) and the artistic research director Antje Budde have in the summer and fall of 2023 co-designed two independent research courses with their respective student co-creators: Tanja Humeniuk and Selina Jia.

These student-driven research courses are:

Fall 2023 DRM491FH: 2D Digital Costume Design and Visual Art - Exploration – Selina Jia
Summer 2023 DRA4091H: Brecht, Transmedia, and Learning – Tanya Humeniuk

Both courses were taught at the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. They engage in important research questions while also supporting professional skill development. Tanya Humeniuk worked during the Spring as a student intern in the DDL2 research project PLAYSTrong. She subsequently started her first year in a PhD program at U of T. Selina Jia refined her creative digital costume design skills and dramaturgy-informed creations in her final year as an undergraduate student in preparation of her future graduate studies. Both students have created public-facing websites, sharing their research knowledge with the world.
