Congratulations to CDTPS alumna Professor Jane Freeman on receiving the highest teaching honour at U of T

CDTPS alumna Professor Jane Freeman has been awarded the very prestigious 2023 President’s Teaching Award, which is the highest teaching honour given at the University of Toronto (U of T). The award recognizes superlative achievement in the areas of educational leadership, teaching excellence, and educational innovation.

Freeman is the founding director of the Graduate Centre for Academic Communication (GCAC) at the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) where she helps graduate students learn a multitude of valuable academic communication skills including thesis writing, grant writing, editing, presenting work at conferences and how to publish one’s work. She has supported many of our CDTPS graduate students during their academic journeys.

Freeman completed her dissertation, Speake that I may see thee, figures of rhetoric in Shakespeare's comedies at the CDTPS in 1997.
