CDTPS Professor Jacob Gallagher-Ross has been appointed Chair of the Department of English and Drama at UTM beginning July 1, 2022, following his upcoming sabbatical.
The following is taken from the announcement made by Amrita Daniere, Vice Principal, Academic and Dean, UTM:
"It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you that the Agenda Committee for the Academic Board has approved the appointment of Professor Jacob Gallagher-Ross as the new Chair of English and Drama at UTM for a four-year term, from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2025. Professor Gallagher-Ross is recognized as an outstanding scholar and gifted teacher. He has taught a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate courses and served on a number of administrative committees. UTM is delighted that Professor Gallagher-Ross has agreed to take on this role in such a challenging time given that he exemplifies exceptional judgement, a commitment to the division and his department as well as demonstrated leadership skills. The first year of Professor Gallagher-Ross term will be a sabbatical leave, therefore an Acting Chair will be appointed for July 1, 2021 to 30 June 2022. An announcement will be forthcoming on this once the appointment has been approved by the Agenda Committee."
